2nd Station: Jesus Takes Up His Cross
“So they handed him over to be crucified. And carrying the cross himself, he went out to the Place of the Skull (Golgotha).” — John 19:16–17
Reflection:
Jesus takes the cross—the very instrument of His suffering—and carries it willingly.
What was once a symbol of shame becomes, through Him, a sign of love and redemption.
He didn’t carry the cross out of obligation… He chose it out of love for us.
What crosses am I being called to carry?
Do I resist them, or trust God through them?
Jesus shows us that suffering is not meaningless. When carried with faith, it can shape us, strengthen us, and draw us closer to God. We are never alone—He walks with us every step of the way.
Prayer:
Lord, give us the strength to carry our crosses with courage and love. Help us trust in Your plan, even in difficult moments. Amen.
Take a Moment:
Jesus carried His cross for you.
How can you carry yours with faith today?
